Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide consultation and administer anesthesia across a full range of agents, methods, and techniques while observing safety standards in the operating room.
  • •Conduct pre-operative interviews to assess and develop anesthesia care plans, and explain expected outcomes to patients/legal guardians to obtain required consent.
  • •Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia, evaluate recovery and complications, and take appropriate therapeutic measures in emergencies.
  • •Maintain accurate patient records and appropriate documentation, including controlled drug documentation for the division in the OR and obstetrical settings.
  • •Provide clinical leadership by supervising registrars and residents, participating in quality improvement, infection control, committee meetings, on-call rota, and continued medical education.

Key Requirements

  • •Required American Board or Canadian Fellowship, or FFARCS/FRCA, or equivalent.
  • •Minimum five (5) years post-qualification experience in the specialty.
  • •Current valid license to practice medicine in the specialty area.
  • •Registration in Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and/or current license to practice medicine in Saudi Arabia (as applicable).
  • •Demonstrate leadership and administrative skills, professionalism, and excellent interpersonal communication; fluent verbal and written English.
