Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver civil engineering design for rail assets including stations and platforms, depots, level crossings, canopy refurbishments, lineside railway civils, and minor civil structures.
  • •Prepare technical outputs to WSP quality management system standards, championing best practice across the team.
  • •Support and lead the development of drawings, reports, and specifications to meet programme milestones and collaborate with engineers and technicians.
  • •Carry out design outputs (calculations, design, risk assessments) and scope/specify surveys, including supervising or leading site surveys.
  • •Champion WSP SHEW culture and ensure compliance with regulations while collaborating with clients and contractors to deliver effective solutions.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related, accredited by the Engineering Council).
  • •Be Chartered or Incorporated Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or nearing Chartered or Incorporated status.
  • •Have experience delivering and managing all stages of multi-disciplinary engineering projects from initial studies through detailed design.
  • •Demonstrate working knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines, including the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, British and European Standards, Eurocodes, and Codes of Practice.
