Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the process design basis for assigned areas, including design cases, margins, turndown, utility/reagent demands, and underlying assumptions.
  • •Develop PFDs, heat and material balances, and P&IDs (including equipment, instrumentation and control loops, isolation/relief philosophy, drains/vents, and tie-ins) through IFC.
  • •Manage automated workflows and process-data metadata for line, instrument, and valve lists (e.g., sizes, service conditions, design pressures/temperatures, pipe class, insulation/heat tracing).
  • •Build and maintain hydraulic models for sizing, pressure drops, pump/blower duty points, NPSH margin, control valve/orifice sizing, slurry/two-phase lines, and gravity/launder/vent flow; identify automation opportunities.
  • •Size and specify process equipment (pumps, control valves, relief devices, heat exchangers, tanks, agitators, filters, thickeners, mixer-settlers, crystallizers, solid–liquid separation), write control narratives, support PHAs/HAZOP, and assist procurement/commissioning with RFI resolution, walkdowns, loop checks, and as-built closeout.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of process engineering delivering detailed design for industrial process facilities in an EPC/EPCM, owner’s engineer, or in-house capital projects environment.
  • •Experience with the detailed-engineering cycle on at least one greenfield or major brownfield project.
  • •BS in Chemical, Metallurgical, or Process Engineering (PE preferred).
  • •Ability to develop PFDs, heat/material balances, and P&IDs from concept through IFC with strong equipment and instrumentation deliverables.
  • •Experience with slurry/solids handling and/or data-centric P&ID platforms (SmartPlant P&ID, AVEVA P&ID, or Plant 3D P&ID) is preferred.
