Key Responsibilities

  • •Own technical design and delivery for IBM i initiatives, ensuring solutions are secure, resilient, and supportable
  • •Provide day-to-day technical direction to developers, including coding standards, design reviews, estimation, and prioritisation
  • •Lead root-cause analysis for major incidents and drive permanent fixes (problem management), partnering with DB2 for i for tuning and troubleshooting
  • •Deliver L3 production support and technical oversight for L2 teams, including on-call/major incident support as required
  • •Own release readiness and deployment planning, and enable observable integrations using REST/JSON concepts and middleware where relevant

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years hands-on experience with IBM i / iSeries / AS400 in enterprise environments
  • •Strong development experience in RPGLE (Free) and CLLE (COBOL is a plus depending on estate)
  • •Strong DB2 for i capability, including SQL, performance tuning, data modelling concepts, and troubleshooting
  • •Proven track record in production support, troubleshooting, and major incident/root-cause analysis
  • •Working knowledge of API usage and integration concepts (REST, JSON, authentication basics)
