Job Summary

Serve as the chief pharmacist for the hospital, providing guidance and direction across pharmacy services to ensure proper professional and administrative procedures under DHA rules and regulations. Oversee department-level managerial functions, pharmacy policy and procedure development, patient care evaluation related to drug use and effectiveness, and adherence to ethical practice for storage, preparation, and dispensation of pharmaceuticals.

Key Responsibilities

•Maintain sufficient inventory of material supplies and equipment and report shortages with records for ordering and replenishments.
•Perform department-level managerial functions and support development of pharmacy services policies, procedures, and standards, including drug use effectiveness evaluation.
•Ensure proper storage, preparation, and dispensation of drugs, and monitor related records and monthly reports for adherence to ethical and professional practice.
•Oversee procurement, stock maintenance, and ledger maintenance for narcotic, controlled, and psychotropic drugs, including required monthly/quarterly/annual reporting and forecasts to MOH.
•Provide quality and safety oversight, including quality improvement, compliance with safety/quality control programs, infection control and PCI expectations, and support clinical audit processes.

Key Requirements

•Earn a Pharmacy Degree from an accredited college or school of pharmacy.
•5 years of experience in hospital pharmacy and/or clinical pharmacy, including at least 2 years in pharmacy administration.
•Hold a current license in country of origin and a DHA license to practice in U.A.E. (Dubai).
•Good command of English (Arabic is desirable but not essential).
•Thorough knowledge of DHA policies and regulations regarding pharmaceuticals and ability to work with medical services, applicable departments, and Dubai Municipality officials/representatives.
