Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the overall performance of the Maritime Engineering team, setting priorities and performance expectations aligned with the Ports & Maritime strategy.
  • •Lead and develop the team through mentoring, collaboration, succession planning, and capability growth.
  • •Provide oversight and Project Director leadership for major commissions, ensuring scope, programme, budget, quality, client outcomes, and contractual obligations are met.
  • •Manage cost-centre performance and portfolio commercial outcomes, including forecasting, resource allocation, profitability, and change control.
  • •Provide technical governance and assurance across commissions, ensuring health and safety, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and adoption of innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements

  • •Significant senior leadership experience in maritime, ports, or terminal engineering, including responsibility for multidisciplinary teams and complex project portfolios.
  • •Demonstrable people-management experience covering recruitment, objective setting, performance management, mentoring, succession, and capability development.
  • •Proven accountability for cost-centre, budget, or business-unit performance, including forecasting, resource planning, utilisation, and commercial recovery.
  • •Track record as Project Director, technical director, or equivalent on major commissions with accountability for programme, cost, quality, risk, client satisfaction, and contractual delivery.
  • •Strong port and marine infrastructure credentials (e.g., marine structures, terminal planning, civil infrastructure) plus knowledge of technical governance, design assurance, quality management, health and safety, and relevant standards.
