Job Summary

Own the strategy and deployment of Thumbtack’s finance systems ecosystem, including EPM, ERP, procurement, financial reporting, tax, and close/reconciliation workflows. Lead AI-powered solutions and workflow automation that reduce manual data wrangling and improve forecasting, accuracy, cycle time, and governance. Partner with Finance, Internal Tools, and Data Engineering to shape data architecture, self-service reporting, and decision-ready analytics at scale.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the strategy for finance systems including Adaptive Insights, NetSuite, Navan, Coupa/Ironclad/Omnea, Workiva, Avalara, FloQast, DMS, and Carta.
•Translate finance workflows (close, FP&A, audit, reporting) into AI-enabled processes by mapping data flows and identifying automation opportunities.
•Design and deploy AI-powered finance solutions to improve accuracy, cycle time, and decision quality (including forecasting support, reconciliation agents, and reporting).
•Partner with Internal Tools to configure and optimize finance systems and support implementation of successor systems via systems roadmap.
•Serve as an interface between Finance and Data Engineering to ensure financial data integrity, governance, and enable scalable reporting and self-service analytics for leaders.

Key Requirements

•10+ years of experience working at the intersection of finance and technology, with hands-on ownership of financial planning, ERP, or related platforms.
•Experience applying AI automation within finance/accounting workflows (close, FP&A, reporting, controls).
•Expertise in financial data architecture and how they translate into AI-ready datasets, including ETL, data governance, and reliable data pipelines between source systems and planning tools.
•Practical understanding of governance frameworks (human-in-the-loop, auditability, SOX compliance).
•Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and system configurations, bridging finance stakeholders and technical teams.
