Key Responsibilities

  • •Partner with the Country QHSE Director to co-develop site strategy and own execution on the ground, including toolbox briefings and yard coaching.
  • •Establish, implement, and continuously improve QHSE processes and initiatives under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, including certification add/upgrade as required.
  • •Act as a high-ranking counterpart to Port Operations Managers, enforcing stop-work authority and resolving production-versus-safety conflicts.
  • •Unify QHSE governance across quality, environment, and occupational safety for high-hazard port activities (quay crane logistics, hazardous cargo handling, contractor management, yard traffic).
  • •Coordinate incident investigations (ICAM), plan emergency mock drills and preparedness, lead management reviews/internal audits, and coordinate required governmental QHSE approvals.

Key Requirements

  • •Educational degree required (Science–Engineering–Agriculture) or related.
  • •Postgraduate qualification in Safety.
  • •NEBOSH Diploma in managing Health and Safety (or equivalent) and Lead Auditor certification.
  • •Minimum 15 years’ QHSE experience with at least 8 years in management & leadership.
  • •Valid driving license.
