Job Summary

Design and supervise high-voltage substation projects (15kV–345kV, up to 500kV preferred) for utility and industrial clients. Support due diligence, permitting, and construction, mentor junior staff, and collaborate in a hybrid/in-office team in Saint Louis, MO. Utilize discipline-specific software to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient substation designs within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical guidance for design, development, and construction of high-voltage substations (15kV–345kV, up to 500kV preferred).
•Collect, analyze data relating to substation components for procurement, IFR/IRC design, and IEEE/NESC/NERC standards.
•Design substation physical layouts and protection & control systems (single line, three line diagrams, relay settings).
•Review third-party design documents and procurement lists for HV substations.
•Prepare data visualizations, tables, and reports; ensure quality control, safety, and regulatory compliance; work with cross-functional teams.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
•3-5 years of post-education experience designing power transmission and distribution systems with specific substation design experience.
•Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design/build processes, permitting, and project work.
•Experience in infrastructure planning, design, and construction management, including rehabilitation and new design.
•Experience with discipline-specific design software (AutoCAD Electrical, CADD, Aspen, CAPE, ETAP).
