Job Summary

Oversee preventive maintenance and emergency repairs for surface and underground fixed equipment, supervising hourly maintenance staff and coordinating contract maintenance. Manage work orders, enforce safety and quality standards, and ensure maintenance mechanics follow the preventive maintenance schedule. Partner with planning and operations to schedule jobs and ensure spare parts availability, handle emergency maintenance for critical underground systems, maintain CMMS entries and shift paperwork, and participate in risk assessments and SOP development.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide direct oversight of preventive maintenance, scheduled repairs, and emergency repairs for fixed equipment assets.
•Supervise and assign work to hourly maintenance department employees; support training, performance, and discipline in line with policies and agreements.
•Coordinate contract maintenance and work closely with planning and operations supervisors to ensure equipment maintenance needs are met.
•Ensure maintenance compliance with the preventive maintenance schedule and inspect daily operations and completed projects for quality and reliability.
•Maintain CMMS entries and required paperwork (shift reports, material requests, timecards) and support risk assessment and SOP development activities.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree from a vocational/technical school preferred.
•Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance experience.
•Experience in an underground mining environment with a good understanding of underground hard rock mining operations.
•Working knowledge of underground hard rock mining equipment maintenance processes and procedures.
•Must be computer literate and proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook; prior supervisory experience preferred.
