Key Responsibilities

  • •Understand visual requirements and recommend new technologies, tools, and procedures to meet production needs.
  • •Provide technical expertise and guidance for lighting and rendering stakeholders across production craft groups.
  • •Design, develop, and maintain high-quality code for technology, tools, and workflows.
  • •Track, debug, and resolve workflow issues in partnership with TAs, Lead TDs, Technical Supervisors, Associate Technical Supervisors, Solutions Engineers, and R&D.
  • •Participate in or lead QA, technical testing, and validation of new technology, tool releases, or pipeline changes; monitor and optimize renders and troubleshoot performance issues.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 120,000 - 180,000

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of pipeline TD experience in large-scale animated features, animated TV series, the gaming industry, and/or VFX feature films.
  • •Solid production/industry experience as a TD, ideally as part of a team.
  • •Comprehensive experience using and troubleshooting lighting and rendering software.
  • •Good software development skills and understanding of department workflows and technology, including code review and troubleshooting.
  • •Knowledge of Python and PyQt (or another GUI toolkit), plus concepts like data flow/dependencies, metadata, and publishing/retrieval.
