Key Responsibilities

  • •Learn and contribute to the provision of technical support and the design of major transmission projects within the Transmission & Distribution team.
  • •Undertake overhead line design activities including modelling, line routing, structural analysis, loading trees, design criteria, sag-tension calculations, and clearance reports.
  • •Support feasibility studies, including conductor thermal ratings, and develop technically preferred solution/layout recommendations for clients.
  • •Help ensure projects meet safety, health, environmental, sustainability, and quality standards.
  • •Support engineering deliverables such as complex designs, reports, proposals, presentations, and drawing packages.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical engineering or power engineering) or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • •Experience working on electrical design projects for transmission system operators such as National Grid, SSE, and SPT.
  • •Project experience in overhead line engineering up to 400kV.
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
