Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead architecture and implementation of Cloudflare Tunnel systems, including the cross-platform open-source client and edge services.
  • •Participate across the software development lifecycle: design/document, write code, automated tests, and monitor production deployments.
  • •Collaborate with security, network engineering, SRE, and product management to design and scale technical solutions.
  • •Review peers’ work to ensure high-quality, maintainable code across the development lifecycle.
  • •Debug complex systems and drive the long-term technical roadmap and system-wide improvements for resiliency at scale.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of backend software development focused on secure, highly available distributed systems.
  • •Strong programming skills in Go, Rust, C++, or a similar systems-level language.
  • •Knowledge of modern Unix/Linux development and runtime environments.
  • •Understanding of networking protocols (OSI layers 3–7) and experience with network programming.
  • •Experience with monitoring/logging (Prometheus, Grafana), containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and microservices/APIs (RESTful design).
