Key Responsibilities

  • •Implement financial crime requirements in a customer-oriented way while ensuring regulatory adherence for new products and services.
  • •Drive enhancements to financial crime controls across Wise’s UK business product, improving compliance while maintaining a first-class customer experience.
  • •Develop ongoing review and monitoring processes so controls scale with product changes, mitigating financial crime risk.
  • •Advise product and operational teams on interpreting UK financial crime regulations and improving processes to avoid regulatory breaches or incidents.
  • •Conduct risk assessments using data, and work with the UK MLRO team and audit partners to explain, strengthen, and defend FinCrime controls.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 89,000 - 127,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years’ experience implementing financial crime controls in a financial institution, fintech, or consultancy.
  • •Strong knowledge of UK financial crime regulation and guidance, including Money Laundering Regulations, Proceeds of Crime Act, and JMLSG.
  • •Sanctions controls experience, including policy application and control design/oversight for screening decisioning (preferred).
  • •Proven experience implementing and improving financial crime controls across the customer lifecycle in product-led environments.
  • •Ability to interpret data, define and monitor KRIs, and translate regulatory requirements into actionable business requirements with high-quality governance/audit documentation.
