Key Responsibilities

  • •Select a portfolio of wines within allocated regions and countries, owning the buying role for large or complex Category Pods.
  • •Negotiate supplier terms and contracts, including price and marketing support.
  • •Create and execute the annual category plan across channels, translating business and category vision into commercial plans and targets.
  • •Manage Category Pod suppliers by setting the supply base, preparing and negotiating annual terms, and tracking performance against Supplier Joint Business Plans.
  • •Lead or contribute to horizontal Pod working, mentoring L7 Buyers and supporting improvements to systems and ways of working.

Salary: GBP 68,900 - 105,200 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Wine qualification (preferably WSET Level 4 Diploma or Master of Wine) and/or demonstrable wine tasting experience for value assessment and quality assurance.
  • •Experience as a Wines Buyer or equivalent commercial role.
  • •Strong negotiations skills and the ability to engage and influence at multiple levels within a commercial organisation.
  • •Clear understanding of GSCoP, Competition Law and other legislation relevant to a Buying role.
  • •Experience working in a cross-functional matrix and delivering analytical, data-informed decisions.
