Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead projects from concept to rollout, including design, delivery, operations, and customer follow-up (e.g., read path efficiency or trace-to-profile correlation).
  • •Design, build, and operate core components of a distributed database (ingestion, storage, and query) with trade-offs across performance, cost, and complexity.
  • •Wear the product hat: join customer calls, translate pain points into deliverables, and directly shape the roadmap.
  • •Drive operational excellence by owning outcomes against SLOs and unit cost targets, reducing toil through automation, and improving incident response.
  • •Participate in EMEA on-call and contribute to open source by engaging the community and reviewing external contributions.

Key Requirements

  • •Solid experience with a systems programming language; Pyroscope is written in Go (experience with one or more languages such as Rust, C, C++, Python, or Java).
  • •Experience building and operating distributed systems in production, including multi-tenant data systems that are fast, reliable, and affordable.
  • •Product sense: comfortable talking to customers, handling ambiguity, and translating problems into manageable deliverables (no dedicated PM).
  • •Operational mindset: carried a pager, done SRE-style work or infrastructure-as-code, and treats reliability as a feature.
  • •Strong software craftsmanship and clear communication in a fully remote, asynchronous environment through writing, reviews, and shipped code.
