Job Summary

Lead the design and validation of mission-level behaviors and tactics for prototype aircraft in contested or dynamic environments. Own the advanced behaviors discipline within a rapid-prototyping, cross-functional Special Programs team, spanning concept behavior definition through simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and flight-test support. Conduct feasibility assessments for new opportunities, produce validation documentation and trade studies, and represent your discipline in internal reviews and with government stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead design and validation of advanced mission behaviors and tactics, including behavior architectures, decision logic, and scenario-based validation.
•Support end-to-end rapid prototyping from concept behaviors and simulation through hardware-in-the-loop testing and flight test support.
•Own the advanced behaviors discipline within Special Programs by setting technical approach, standards, and validation methods used across behavior work.
•Conduct technical feasibility assessments for emerging concepts, RFPs, and mission requirements within the focus area.
•Produce technical documentation, trade studies, and analysis packages, and represent the discipline in internal reviews and with government stakeholders as needed.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 138,200 - 190,100 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field (advanced degree a plus).
•Demonstrated experience developing or validating mission-level behaviors, tactics, or decision-making logic for autonomous or semi-autonomous aerospace/defense systems.
•Familiarity with behavior modeling, simulation environments, and scenario-based test and validation approaches.
•Experience across the full development lifecycle from concept through prototype in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment.
•8–12 years of relevant engineering experience; must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR/EAR and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
