Key Responsibilities

•Design the mechanical system for the next module or chassis, addressing structure, cooling, EMC, safety, manufacturability, cost, appearance, tolerances, and documentation; provide drawings and 3D files.
•Structure BOM, release and change management using Agile PLM; coordinate with cross-functional teams for reviews.
•Provide 3D models for thermal simulations and PCB design drawings/files to ECAD; collaborate with electrical engineers on PCB placement and verify PCB designs.
•Work with contract manufacturers and suppliers to address DFM concerns; perform lab validation of prototypes and communicate manufacturing issues to CM.
•Travel to suppliers as needed to troubleshoot issues or expedite builds; participate in cross-functional meetings to resolve production sustaining issues.

Travel: Medium travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 300,000 - 655,000 annually

Key Requirements

•BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with 7+ years of experience.
•Experience designing mechanical systems for computer/network equipment intended for data centers.
•Experience with ECO, BOM and Deviation processes; Agile experience is a plus.
•Experience using ProEngineer (PTC Creo); Creo Simulate (Mechanica) is a plus.
•Experience with thermal simulation and air flow testing; liquid cooling systems a plus.
