Key Responsibilities

  • •Support drafting and managing execution of strategic plans for political and community engagement.
  • •Represent Rowan at public events and communicate project benefits to external stakeholders, including AHJs, economic development partners, elected officials, and the community.
  • •Draft communications content to amplify Rowan’s community, economic, and environmental benefits for public settings.
  • •Identify and track pertinent legislation and local policy proposals with potential business implications.
  • •Support Economic Development, Development, and Energy SMEs to navigate the evolving policy landscape within the Temple area and Texas.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2+ years of public policy experience within government and/or relevant nonprofits, public interest groups, business, campaigns, or industry associations.
  • •Proven ability to persuasively and diplomatically advocate policy positions publicly before key stakeholders.
  • •Track record of developing strong partnerships with AHJs, economic development organizations, and state/local government stakeholders.
  • •Experience communicating with senior leaders and executives across an organization.
  • •Knowledge of policy impacting data center/large industrial development and/or legislative tracking is preferred.
