Key Responsibilities

  • •Undertake overhead line design activities including PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis and loading trees, and design criteria formulation.
  • •Perform sag-tension calculations and support insulator/conductor blowout, swing angle, damper system recommendations, structural spotting, clearance reports, and conductor/insulator selection.
  • •Support feasibility studies, including conductor thermal ratings, to identify technically preferred solutions/layouts for client presentation.
  • •Ensure all projects meet safety, health, environmental, sustainability, and quality standards.
  • •Provide engineering deliverables such as complex designs, reports, proposals, presentations, and drawing packages while following AECOM and client design management processes.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent technical discipline (electrical engineering or power engineering).
  • •Experience working on electrical design projects for transmission system operators (e.g., National Grid, SSE, SPT) in line with their standards.
  • •Project experience in overhead line engineering up to 400kV.
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • •Ability to learn and contribute to OHL technical support and design for major transmission projects.
