Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as technical leader for engineers building integrations between Mark43’s platform and mission-critical third-party systems.
  • •Make and guide architecture decisions across REST APIs, message queues, data pipelines, webhooks, and event-driven workflows.
  • •Lead complex integrations from discovery through production, turning ambiguous problems into executable technical plans.
  • •Stay hands-on with design reviews, code reviews, prototyping, debugging, and targeted implementation on complex/high-risk issues.
  • •Drive reliability, scalability, security, performance, error handling, testing, observability, and operational readiness; mentor and manage engineers through 1:1s and feedback.

Key Requirements

  • •6+ years of professional software engineering experience designing and operating backend services, distributed systems, and system integrations.
  • •Proven technical leadership across complex projects, including architecture decisions, design reviews, implementation strategy, and mentoring engineers.
  • •Strong hands-on experience with APIs, webhooks, asynchronous messaging, and data pipelines, using technologies such as Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, RESTful services, and SQL/MySQL.
  • •Experience leading engineers through technical direction, coaching, project leadership, and people management.
  • •Judgement to delegate, guide, or step in directly on high-risk integrations.
