Job Summary

Patrol and monitor interstate roadways across District 1 to keep lanes clear and help stranded motorists. You’ll assist the public with issues like dead batteries, out of gas, and flat tires, provide customer service via dispatch radio, and report/document roadway deficiencies to dispatch or district offices. This role is focused on roadway safety, mechanical know-how, and emergency-style response while working from an on-site program equipped with a response vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

•Patrol and monitor assigned interstate roadway segments for stranded motorists, roadway deficiencies, site distance problems, and obstructions that may cause lane blockage.
•Use dispatch radio and demonstrate strong communication skills during operations.
•Provide courteous customer service to stranded motorists without accepting tips or gratuity.
•Assist motorists with situations such as dead batteries, running out of gas, or flat tires.
•Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Municipal laws; monitor, report, and document roadway deficiencies to dispatch or district offices.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma (or GED) or 1 year of relevant work experience in lieu of education.
•Be at least 18 years old and able to drive an AECOM vehicle while patrolling interstate roadways in an assigned region.
•Possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (no license suspension in the last 5 years).
•Pass State and Federal criminal history/security and motor vehicle background checks, including pre-employment and random drug screening.
•Possess or be able/willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications and demonstrate working knowledge of basic automotive repair.
