Key Responsibilities

  • •Safeguard and promote the welfare of children through effective safeguarding practices and required checks.
  • •Plan and teach well-structured lessons in secondary English, using excellent subject knowledge and pedagogic skills.
  • •Set and mark work for students in school and as appropriate outside school; provide guidance and advice to students.
  • •Assess, record, and report progress, using formative and summative assessment and giving regular feedback.
  • •Contribute to department discussions, whole-school development, curriculum development, and required after-school and community partnership activities.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven ability to teach secondary English with strong subject knowledge and curriculum understanding.
  • •Experience planning lessons that account for students’ individual learning needs, learning styles, and capabilities.
  • •Ability to assess, record, and report on student development, progress, and attainment, including giving regular feedback.
