Key Responsibilities

  • •Create and maintain strong broker relationships to provide customer service and commercial insurance solutions for Middle Market accounts.
  • •Thoughtfully underwrite new and renewal business within delegated authority, shaping and managing your portfolio aligned to Middle Market strategy and Zurich underwriting practices.
  • •Use disciplined exposure evaluation, risk assessment, and pricing/rating tools to qualify accounts and determine appropriate coverage per risk and compliance processes.
  • •Engage in marketplace activities to enhance Zurich brand, identify renewal and new account opportunities, and provide improvement insights to underwriting systems/processes.
  • •Up-sell Middle Market product suite coverages (Z-Guard) and cross-sell other lines of business to increase product density with accounts.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 3+ years underwriting or market-facing experience, OR High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 6+ years claims or underwriting support experience, OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice (Associate Degree) with 1+ years underwriting/market-facing experience, OR with 4+ years claims/underwriting support experience.
  • •Knowledge of lines of business plus legal and regulatory guidelines, underwriting philosophy, techniques, pricing, and guideline requirements.
  • •Experience underwriting new and renewal business under quote time restraints.
  • •Experience working in a team environment.
  • •Preferred: Bachelors’ Degree with 3+ years in commercial P&C underwriting, plus strong negotiation and interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
