Job Summary

Lead technical delivery for overhead line (OHL) engineering within the Energy Networks business. You’ll manage technical standards, supervise design work from concept through detailed design (including FEED and feasibility), and oversee quality control. Partner with clients and coordinate requirements across TNO/DNO stakeholders, while driving strategies, processes, staff training, and engineering estimates supporting business development across UK energy transmission and distribution markets.

Key Responsibilities

•Accountable for technical standards for the OHL team, including final approval of documentation for submission.
•Supervise every phase of OHL design from concept and feasibility through FEED and detailed design.
•Lead and drive strategies, processes, and procedures for technical services, delegating tasks to engineering teams.
•Create hours estimates and approve designs and estimates supporting business development activities.
•Liaise with clients and provide leadership on technical/design issues, health and safety, quality, and environmental matters; report to the OHL Director.

Key Requirements

•Demonstrable experience in overhead line (OHL) design.
•Experience using OHL design packages such as PLS-CADD or Tower & Pole (or similar).
•Awareness of TNO and DNO requirements.
•Formal engineering degree (or above).
•Awareness of ENA and BSI standards, plus CDM and design risk assessments.
