Key Responsibilities

  • •Clean and sanitize hatchery equipment using high-pressure water hoses.
  • •Transfer baby chicks from hatching baskets to chick boxes.
  • •Monitor and record temperatures in hatchers and setters.
  • •Set eggs.
  • •Pad and organize chick boxes and operate hatchery equipment (e.g., fogging schedule, macerator, chick counter, tray washer) while maintaining a clean work area.

Key Requirements

  • •Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional employment gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (18 months if laid off or for child/elder care).

  • •Follow biosecurity/animal welfare procedures, including showering, changing clothing/footwear before entering, and signing agreements to avoid avian species.
  • •Must be willing and able to perform physical requirements, including safe lifting and lifting 50 lbs, plus pushing/pulling 500–1000 lbs.
  • •Expected to follow safety policies and procedures and use required PPE.
