Job Summary

Lead security engineering end-to-end across the code-to-cloud lifecycle for Sysdig’s Trust & Security team. Report to the CISO, set functional strategy, own the security-engineering roadmap, standards, and budget, and grow a small team of senior and staff engineers. Bring an AI-first approach to scale safe, AI-assisted development and help mature cloud defense and AI workload protection, while turning compliance into continuous assurance.

Key Responsibilities

•Build and lead security engineering end-to-end across the code-to-cloud lifecycle, setting technical direction and growing a team through hiring and development.
•Set security engineering functional strategy with the CISO and senior leadership; translate strategy into operational plans, standards, tooling, and practices.
•Apply an AI-first approach to deliver secure capabilities, including making AI-assisted and agent-driven development safe across the org.
•Partner with product on roadmap guidance to mature the core cloud defense platform and AI workload protection.
•Represent security with executives and major customers and turn compliance (ISO 27001, ISO 27701, SOC 2 Type II) into continuous assurance.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 186,000 - 256,000 annually

Key Requirements

•7+ years in security or software engineering, with 4+ years leading and developing engineers; own a team’s roadmap, outcomes, and budget.
•Deep partnership experience with engineering teams.
•Experience using AI and agentic tooling to deliver security capabilities that help engineers build better systems.
•Technical foundations in cloud and Kubernetes security, infrastructure-as-code, and modern CI/CD.
•Strong understanding of compliance as continuous assurance (ISO 27001, ISO 27701, SOC 2 Type II).
