Key Responsibilities

  • •Carry out Medium Voltage and Low Voltage design work to DNO Standards.
  • •Provide open/closed ring and radial feeder supply network solutions and substation layout designs.
  • •Conduct primary plant and equipment design works and secondary protection/control solution digests, including circuit and wiring diagrams.
  • •Perform cable sizing calculations, routing, section/termination drawings, and electrical system/earthing grid design and modelling with touch/step/transfer potential calculations.
  • •Produce interface designs for SCADA, auxiliary supply and COP metering, and deliver local standby and backup power changeover solutions; support equipment specification, procurement down-selection, and design reviews with the team lead verifier.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • •Knowledge of British and DNO specific design standards.
  • •A proven track record as a Trainee or Assistant Electrical Engineer, or completion of a Graduate Training programme post degree in a design office and/or construction environment within the Energy/Power sector.
  • •Understanding of functional characteristics of Power Systems.
  • •Experience in writing clear and concise documentation.
