Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead avionics mechanical engineers to enable rapid progress of design, integration, test, and launch activities.
  • •Drive conceptual design, architecture trades, and first-order sizing; develop design requirements when definition is lacking.
  • •Perform first-principles analysis and FEA to assess and optimize designs, improving development speed, mass, and cost.
  • •Apply design-for-manufacturing principles, drive first-article builds, and support production improvements for efficiency and rate.
  • •Design and execute development, acceptance, and qualification testing; work with analysts and manufacturing engineers on requirements and manufacturability.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, science, or math discipline.
  • •3+ years of professional experience designing mechanical components or assemblies.
  • •1+ years of experience leading teams, either formally or as part of a team project.
  • •Proficiency with GD&T and frequent use of hand calculations, FEA, and CAD.
  • •Ability to solve complex problems, assess risk, and make design and development decisions with incomplete data.
