Job Summary

Develop and maintain high-quality clinical embryology and assisted reproduction services in the IVF laboratory, under supervision of the laboratory director. Lead training and supervision of junior staff, contribute to research and teaching, and perform core laboratory duties including semen analysis, oocyte handling, embryo culture and transfer, and cryopreservation.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide consistent and high standard of clinical embryology and andrology services following appropriate competency assesment and in adherence to standard operating procedures
•Main clinical duties: Semen analysis and preparation for in vitro fertilisation (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and intrauterine insemination (IUI)
•Main clinical duties: Sperm cryopreservation and thawing
•Main clinical duties: Processing, cryopreservation and thawing of Epididymal sperm, testicular biopsies and Micro TESE
•Main clinical duties: Oocyte collection
•Main clinical duties: Assessment, insemination and injection of oocytes using IVF or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)
•Main clinical duties: Oocytes and embryo handling and manipulation for assessment of fertilisation, cleavage and blastocyst development
•Main clinical duties: Embryo selection and embryo transfer
•Main clinical duties: Embryo cryopreservation and thawing
•Main clinical duties: Embryo biopsy (blastomere and trophectoderm) and tubing of cells for chromosomal screening and genetic diagnosis
•Main clinical duties: Gamete and embryo culture dish preparation
•Main clinical duties: Communication with patients on embryology treatment outcome
•Main clinical duties: Assist in overall laboratory maintenance (equipment maintenance, disinfection and validation )
•Main clinical duties: Cryo-storage tanks maintenance and audit
•Provide consistent and high standard of clinical embryology and assisted reproduction service and care.
•Assist in running the IVF laboratory under the supervision of the laboratory director.
•Responsible for training and assisting in the supervision of junior and new staff members in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
•Participate in research and teaching where appropriate.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science/health sciences / Applied Science, Biology/Zoology; and
•Master’s degree in human Assisted reproductive technologies
•DOH License or Eligibility
