Job Summary

Lead System Security Engineering (SSE) for cyber-resilient defense programs, translating business strategy into section direction while driving hiring, workforce planning, and engineering rigor. Collaborate with program leadership and customers to define SSE requirements, evaluate trade studies, and communicate security effectiveness and system impacts. Oversee planning, estimating, execution oversight, risk mitigation, and ensure compliance with NIST RMF controls across networks, databases, OSs, hardware, and software.

Key Responsibilities

•Invest in the continuous growth of engineers by delivering performance feedback, guiding career planning, and cultivating future technical leaders.
•Translate business strategy into actionable direction for the section and communicate insights to department and directorate leaders.
•Lead workforce planning, manage tasking, and drive hiring excellence including requisitions, interviews, selection decisions, and onboarding.
•Partner with program leadership and customers to define SSE requirements, evaluate trade studies, and communicate cost, system impacts, and security effectiveness.
•Oversee planning, estimating, execution oversight, project tracking, reporting, and risk mitigation while ensuring compliance with NIST RMF controls.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience.
•Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance is required prior to start date, and U.S. citizenship is required.
•Experience in System Security Engineering and/or Cybersecurity Engineering.
•Experience working with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
