Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the engineering function across technical disciplines, owning quality, reliability, compliance, and security of systems powering Unlearn’s work, with heavy use of AI tools.
  • •Drive execution by defining projects, partnering on scoping and estimation, and running delivery practices that turn commitments into shipped work.
  • •Translate company strategy into sequenced, prioritized work and hold teams accountable for delivering the engineering roadmap on business timeframes.
  • •Operate as a leadership team member by reporting progress, capacity, and risk; aligning expectations between leadership and engineering.
  • •Establish an AI-centric engineering culture, and own hiring and team design for engineering’s growth aligned with company needs.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years in software engineering with experience leading engineering organizations at the Senior Director or VP level, managing managers and senior technical leaders across multiple disciplines.
  • •Track record of strong execution in collaborative, cross-functional environments, delivering on business-critical timelines.
  • •Experience leading across the stack (infrastructure/DevOps, backend or platform, and application/front-end) in regulated environments where compliance impacts system design.
  • •Ability to translate company strategy into an engineering roadmap, communicate priorities and the rationale behind them, and hold teams accountable to commitments.
  • •Experience partnering with Product, R&D, and customer-facing delivery teams; building internal tools and platforms that measurably improve technical teams’ effectiveness.
