Key Responsibilities

  • •Partner with a cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products that change how associates work and how customers interact with Capital One.
  • •Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training and LLM inference.
  • •Leverage open source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, and PyTorch.
  • •Invent and introduce LLM optimization techniques to improve scalability, cost, latency, and throughput of production AI systems.
  • •Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems at Capital One.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 343,400 - 392,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus at least 10 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a Master's plus at least 8 years.
  • •At least 10 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • •Experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies (e.g. LLM inference, similarity search and vector databases, guardrails, memory) using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang.
  • •Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor an engineering organization and influence cross-functional stakeholders up to the SVP level.
  • •Ability to design, develop, integrate, deliver, and support complex enterprise AI systems, deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms.
