Job Summary

Strengthen the analytical backbone of the MidCorp Property portfolio by leading technical underwriting activities across Low, Mid, and Upper MidCorp segments. You’ll assess complex property risks, evaluate exposures and reinsurance needs, develop underwriting guidelines, and drive technical pricing adequacy. Monitor portfolio performance against targets (loss ratio, combined ratio, forward-looking KPIs), conduct structured file reviews, and build dashboards that give leadership clear visibility into underwriting discipline and portfolio health.

Key Responsibilities

•Monitor and control portfolio performance against financial targets (loss ratio, combined ratio, forward-looking KPIs), identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
•Evaluate complex and exceptional property risks outside standard underwriting authority, including exposures, accumulations, and facultative reinsurance needs.
•Develop and refine Property line underwriting guidelines by translating market developments (e.g., inflation, climate risk, construction trends) into underwriting parameters.
•Drive technical pricing adequacy across the property portfolio and collaborate with actuarial and product teams to align rates with current risk.
•Conduct structured underwriting file reviews for underwriting quality, compliance with Allianz Rules for Technical Management (P&C), and adherence to risk appetite; build dashboards and analyses for leadership visibility.

Key Requirements

•Master’s degree in economics, business, actuarial science, or a related field.
•Proven experience in property underwriting, technical portfolio analysis, or risk engineering, ideally in commercial/MidCorp segments.
•Strong analytical skills with comfort working with data, Excel, dashboards, and ideally AI-supported tools.
•A mindset focused on challenging assumptions and driving technical rigour in underwriting (not sales).
•Fluency in English; Dutch and/or French is a plus.
