Job Summary

Maintain and troubleshoot industrial production machinery at the Urbana sawmill. You’ll work with pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers and chains, bearings, and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment, performing preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance. Apply your mechanical troubleshooting skills to restore reliability and safety, request parts in a timely way, and help maximize production uptime within a rotational schedule that may include weekends.

Key Responsibilities

•Maintain mill machinery including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers and chains, bearings, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
•Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance, inspecting equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
•Troubleshoot issues and implement safe, reliable fixes to boost equipment reliability and maximize production uptime.
•Identify and request relevant parts to complete repairs in a timely manner.
•Assist in maintaining a safe work environment.

Key Requirements

•Superior troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Experience working in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment; knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process is an asset.
•Basic electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair machinery components.
•Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems on heavy manufacturing machinery and experience using a CMMS to schedule/document maintenance.
