Job Summary

Deliver heavy equipment from EquipmentShare’s rental facility in Smyrna, TN, using real-time fleet and delivery information from the company’s technology. Operate vehicles safely and legally, transport loads on required routes, manage loading and unloading with appropriate signals and equipment, and maintain delivery paperwork such as invoices and bills of lading. Support routine truck service and coordinate trailers in the shipping yard while working under a Monday–Friday schedule with possible on-call coverage.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
•Transport loads safely and in a timely manner over required routes while obeying traffic laws and safety regulations.
•Maneuver truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas and follow loading crew signals.
•Assist with loading/unloading using specialized equipment and unload empty skids; return equipment to designated areas.
•Maintain signed invoices and shipping documentation (e.g., bills of lading) and perform routine truck service such as checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; report maintenance issues to the Shipping Supervisor.

Key Requirements

•Must hold a commercial driver’s license (Class A CDL) or a chauffeur’s license appropriate for the vehicle operated.
•Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state DOT regulations.
•Must pass a DOT physical, as trucks driven are over 10k lbs.
•Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
•Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds and remain focused in a busy environment.
