Job Summary

Support the development of a mining project by providing technical expertise in biodiversity and high-altitude Andean ecology. Help design and implement a project-specific biodiversity management and monitoring plan, build relationships with government, parks authorities, NGOs, and local communities, and coordinate with regulators and technical reviewers. Provide technical input for permits and compliance with lender requirements, including IFC Performance Standards, and develop revegetation and ecological restoration strategies.

Key Responsibilities

•Work closely with project leaders, infrastructure engineers, geohydrologists, independent environmental consultants, and biodiversity experts.
•Support the development and implementation of a biodiversity management and monitoring plan specific to the project.
•Establish and maintain relationships with key biodiversity stakeholders, including provincial/national government, national park authorities, NGOs, and local communities.
•Support collaboration with regulators, independent technical reviewers, and representatives of financing entities as needed.
•Provide technical input for permitting processes and lender compliance requirements (e.g., IFC Performance Standards), and develop revegetation and ecological restoration strategy.

Key Requirements

•Relevant university degree in Biology/Ecology, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources, or a related field.
•8–10 years of relevant experience in biodiversity planning, ecological impact assessment, mining/infrastructure, environmental management, or lender-funded projects.
•Knowledge of Puna and Andes ecosystems (preferable), including mitigation and compensation strategies.
•Valued knowledge of IFC Performance Standard No. 6, the Equator Principles, or similar lender standards.
•Compliance with local legal requirements for EIA and related permits.
