Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as the primary point of contact for IP matters and provide legal guidance to support rapid business development.
  • •Draft, negotiate, and advise on IP and technology transactions, including agreements for game engines, creator tools, online services, studios, marketplace assets, joint development, and generative AI content tools.
  • •Advise on open-source software policies and implement trade secret protection practices for source code, proprietary tools, and technical documentation.
  • •Develop guidelines for generative AI content creation and distribution, including best practices and tracking processes.
  • •Conduct IP/technology diligence for acquisitions and partnerships and develop IP-related guidelines for content moderation, user-generated content, licensing, and enforcement.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 175,000 - 215,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • •Member in good standing of the California State Bar (or another U.S. State Bar) and eligible to register as in-house counsel in California.
  • •Approximately 7+ years of IP and technology transactions experience, including drafting, negotiating, and advising on complex transactions.
  • •Strong understanding of IP issues relevant to video games, generative AI, user-generated content, and content moderation.
  • •Excellent issue-spotting, problem-solving, and business judgment with a track record advising senior business leaders.
