Job Summary

Lead Bybit EU’s legal operations and grow the EU legal team as the business scales. Set direction for MiCAR-focused compliance programs, oversee compliance risk assessments and audits, and translate legislative/regulatory changes into practical guidance. Serve as a senior advisor to leadership and guide development and launch of MiCAR-compliant crypto products with product teams, including regulatory reporting, licenses, approvals in Austria and coordination across EU stakeholders.

•Lead Bybit EU’s legal operations function and develop the legal team as Bybit EU scales.
•Set direction for and oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of compliance programs, with a focus on MiCAR.
•Oversee compliance risk assessments and audits, identifying non-compliance and directing corrective actions.
•Advise leadership and guide the end-to-end development and launch of MiCAR-compliant crypto products with product teams.
•Lead preparation and submission of regulatory reports, licenses, and approvals in Austria; ensure marketing and cross-functional teams meet EU regulatory requirements and build compliance training.

Key Requirements

•A law degree (LLB, JD, Mag. iur., LL.M., or equivalent).
•Minimum 8 years of legal and regulatory experience, ideally in-house at a large crypto/fintech firm; Austria and/or EU experience preferred.
•Experience leading regulatory or licensing initiatives (e.g., MiCAR licensing processes) and coordinating with regulators across multiple jurisdictions.
•Strong understanding of Austrian and EU regulatory compliance laws, particularly MiCAR, MiFID, and E-Money Directive/Payment Services Directive, and the banking sector.
•Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and leadership teams to translate complex regulation into actionable guidance.
