Key Responsibilities

•Data Access Control Layer: Design and build the system that enforces table-level, column-level, and row-level access controls across Retool's database connectors, including policy modeling and admin UX.
•Hub & Admin Setup: Redesign administrator onboarding and management, building the landing page, global search, guided setup, and admin dashboards for platform health and security insights.
•Projects: Build organizational primitives to group apps, agents, and workflows with membership and role-based permissions, including data model and UI for scalable team collaboration.
•Automated Security Center & Admin Control Panel: Create an intelligent layer to surface under-authenticated resources, monitor usage, and integrate with compliance tools for actionable insights.
•Spaces & Instance Management: Implement controls for governing multiple Retool Spaces and instances with policy enforcement and compliance checks.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 163,800 - 306,000 annually

Key Requirements

•2–8 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally some of which you've spent at startups
•Experience owning technically challenging, cross-functional projects from start to finish
•Strong fundamentals across the entire stack, with a strong grasp of backend systems design, data modeling, and building reliable, scalable software
•You communicate clearly in design docs, code reviews, and cross-functional discussions
•You care about code quality, testing, and leaving the codebase better than you found it
