Job Summary

Own a model-based design (MBD) software platform for next-gen products and develop hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test systems using Speedgoat. Partner with Electronics & Electrical Systems and cross-functional teams to design and verify power electronic motor control software for power tools, generate embedded code from models, and build V&V environments (HIL/SIL/MIL). Support unit/integration testing, documentation, and translation of customer requirements into software specifications.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and develop power electronic software and specifications for motor controls for power tools and outdoor products.
•Run motor control MIL simulation and tests in MATLAB across motor control algorithms and lithium-ion battery systems.
•Generate application-level embedded code from model-based design and support MATLAB unit testing and coverage testing.
•Build and lead HIL test system development using Speedgoat, including setting up a digital power HIL twin and verifying embedded controllers via hardware-in-loop testing.
•Develop V&V environments (HIL/SIL/MIL), create verification/validation procedures, and maintain documentation while translating customer requirements into software specifications.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in electrical or automation engineering (master’s is a plus).
•7+ years of experience in research/product development of embedded firmware.
•Design a model-based design (MBD) embedded software platform for power tool products.
•Strong experience with MBD test automation using MIL/PIL/SIL and motor control testing.
•Proficiency writing/debugging embedded microcontroller code in C/C++ with code generation and BSP/HAL; knowledge of FOC/trapezoidal motor control and closed-loop feedback systems.
