Key Responsibilities

  • •Establish and maintain materials and process specifications for Rocket Motor Systems across propellants, cases, ablatives, insulators, adhesives, coatings, and nozzle materials.
  • •Create process documentation for manufacturing operations including propellant processing, composite fabrication, ablative manufacturing, bonding/surface prep, heat treatment, coating application, and final assembly.
  • •Develop acceptance test procedures and NDI technique sheets for incoming, in-process, and finished hardware inspection.
  • •Serve as technical subject matter expert for materials selection, processing, and qualification; provide materials/process expertise for design and manufacturing teams, including reviews and production issue troubleshooting.
  • •Lead materials characterization, qualifications from development to production readiness, and failure investigations/root cause analyses; mentor junior engineers and help shape RMS materials & process strategy.

Salary: USD 146,000 - 194,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • •5+ years of materials and process engineering experience in aerospace, propulsion, or defense applications.
  • •Experience developing material specifications and process specifications for production programs.
  • •Strong technical foundation in material characterization/testing and documentation, with technical writing skills and attention to detail.
  • •Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
