Key Responsibilities

  • •Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques to perform secondary engineering assignments; prepare project documentation within scope.
  • •Lead delivery of Secondary / Protection & Control engineering for EHV/HV/MV substations (up to 400kV) across transmission, distribution, generation, and asset replacement projects.
  • •Provide technical oversight and approval for protection philosophies/schemes, P&C schematics and panel GA drawings, AC/DC system design and battery sizing, and substation automation systems (IEC 61850, SCADA, RTU, telecom interfaces).
  • •Ensure completeness and functional integrity of work packages; review and validate outputs for compliance with client specifications/standards and IEC/IEEE, coordinating inter-disciplinary interfaces.
  • •Resolve complex technical issues, manage engineering changes and records, contribute to risk/opportunity register, and support proposals with cost estimates and work plans.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree level education in Electrical Engineering.
  • •12+ extensive experience in Substation Secondary engineering and interfaces with other disciplines, preferably in renewable industry.
  • •Proven track record in leading teams.
  • •Strong UK Power Industry knowledge and proven client relationship with UK clients (advantage).
  • •Ability to work on multiple projects/proposals, deliver to externally driven deadlines, and ensure quality of deliverables.
