Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and support a team of on-site Traffic Operations Engineers to deliver real-time traffic operations services.
  • •Coordinate and support the On-site Operations Manager and Project Management teams to complete assigned tasks.
  • •Review and support development of actuated/coordinated traffic signal timing plans and timing databases; coordinate implementation needs with agency staff.
  • •Lead before-after traffic engineering studies to evaluate in-field traffic conditions using technical data sources and traffic management system software.
  • •Use traffic signal equipment, technology, and software systems to manage the traffic signal network and evaluate planned/unplanned events in real time.

Key Requirements

  • •BA/BS and 6+ years of experience (or demonstrated equivalency).
  • •Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan, or ability to obtain one in 6 months.
  • •Michigan Driver’s License in good standing with motor vehicle records check.
  • •Ability to operate a computer during an entire shift.
  • •Ability to view and analyze CCTV and other video monitoring equipment.
