Job Summary

Lead enterprise data engineering engagements for Esri, designing and implementing geospatial database solutions using ArcGIS and Esri best practices. Partner with customers to understand business and technical requirements, develop data management strategies, and implement them throughout the engagement lifecycle. Work with cross-functional teams to configure back-end capabilities for ArcGIS workflows across web, desktop, and mobile applications, including defense/intel customers.

•Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure database solutions to support mission-critical applications
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams during all phases of implementation including requirements, analysis, design, build/configuration, and deployment
•Configure and maintain database environments, including backup, restore, high-availability, and disaster recovery strategies
•Monitor and tune database performance using industry-standard tools and methodologies (such as query optimization, indexing strategies)
•Implement data security measures, access controls, and compliance standards across environments

Key Requirements

•5+ years of hands-on experience in database design, administration, and optimization for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SAP HANA
•Familiarity with database design principles, data loading techniques, backup and recovery solutions, performance monitoring and tuning, database maintenance, and security
•Scripting skills in SQL and Python for automation and data workflows
•Exposure to geospatial concepts such as spatial data types, coordinate systems, and spatial indexing
•Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to technical peers and non-technical project managers or customers
