Key Responsibilities

  • •Participate in the cadet shipping program with an orientation and ongoing coaching.
  • •Receive diversified training through on-the-job assignments using technical skills developed in college.
  • •Complete internship availability requirements and engage in periodic performance appraisals.
  • •Perform in a safety-sensitive role with expectations to make safe and ethical decisions.
  • •Collaborate with and interact with both office and field employees as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
  • •Be available for a minimum of 8 continuous weeks for the internship.
  • •Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marine Engineering, Marine Operations, Maritime Operations & Technology (or foreign equivalent).
  • •Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • •Have or be able to apply for a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) to access secure MTSA-regulated facilities and vessels.
