Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and manage hazardous materials assessments (asbestos, lead, PCBs, and other regulated substances) from survey through remediation and clearance.
  • •Provide occupational hygiene advice, including exposure assessment, risk management, and control strategy development for chemical, biological, and physical hazards.
  • •Oversee hazardous materials management plans and occupational hygiene monitoring program development and implementation.
  • •Ensure work complies with relevant Australian legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards.
  • •Prepare technical reports and client communications, mentor consultants and junior staff, and build client relationships to support new business and tender submissions.

Key Requirements

  • •Tertiary qualifications in a scientific field, environmental management/science, health and safety, or occupational hygiene.
  • •Typically 5+ years in hazardous materials management and occupational hygiene consulting.
  • •Demonstrated expertise conducting hazardous materials surveys, risk assessments, and remediation projects.
  • •Comprehensive knowledge of relevant Australian and state regulations, codes of practice, and standards.
  • •Professional membership/certification (e.g., AIOH/COH membership and/or Licensed Asbestos Assessor) and a valid Australian driver’s licence with willingness to travel.
