Job Summary

Provide technical consulting for fire and life safety engineering across multi-site projects, including due diligence, design, installation, testing, and inspection. Interpret building and fire code requirements (ICC/NFPA), review architectural drawings, negotiate with authorities having jurisdiction, and develop fire safety strategy documents. Design sprinkler, fire alarm, mass notification, smoke control, and egress systems, run smoke and evacuation calculations (from hand to 3D modeling), support commissioning, mentor junior staff, and help develop proposals and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

•Interpret building, life safety, and fire code requirements, including ICC and NFPA (IBC and NFPA 101).
•Review architectural drawings for building and fire code compliance and negotiate with authorities having jurisdiction.
•Develop and document fire safety strategies and design fire protection and life safety systems (sprinkler, fire alarm, mass notification, smoke management, and egress).
•Perform and review fire engineering calculations, including smoke modeling and evacuation analysis (hand calculations to 3D computational modeling).
•Support commissioning, maintain quality control of documentation, and contribute to proposals, budgets, financial management, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related engineering degree.
•5+ years of fire protection and life safety consulting experience.
•Experience applying fire protection engineering design in consulting or similar work.
•Proficiency with REVIT and AutoCAD.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
