Key Responsibilities

  • •Own mechanical design of the next module/chassis for Arista switch products, balancing structure, cooling, EMC, safety, manufacturability, cost, appearance, and tolerances.
  • •Explore and integrate solutions that meet combined mechanical requirements and existing product family constraints.
  • •Implement and release designs in Creo 3D CAD, producing drawings and 3D files for prototyping and manufacturing.
  • •Schedule and run peer and cross-functional design reviews; support BOM, release, and change processes using Agile.
  • •Validate prototypes in the lab, debug design issues, communicate manufacturing findings to CMs, and troubleshoot with suppliers (including some travel).

Key Requirements

  • •BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering plus 7 years’ experience.
  • •Experience in mechanical design of computer/network equipment for data center environments (preferred).
  • •Experience with ECO, BOM, and Deviation processes (Agile experience a plus).
  • •Experience using PTC Creo / ProEngineer (and optional Creo Simulate/Mechanica) and supporting thermal simulation and airflow testing.
  • •Hands-on lab experience with testing (e.g., shock, vibe, EMC), plus ability to lift 50 pounds and fluent English.
