Key Responsibilities

  • •Turn customer decision data into learnable training data and choose the right modeling approach (classical classifiers, fine-tuned LLMs, or third-party APIs) end-to-end from data to decisions.
  • •Improve classification pipelines, confidence cascading, and detection strategies to balance cost, latency, and accuracy.
  • •Develop intelligent features that support moderators’ decisions and reveal patterns across data.
  • •Partner with Engineering to build in-house model training, hosting, and inference infrastructure, plus evaluation and metrics infrastructure for scores and outputs.
  • •Collaborate with Data Scientists and Data Engineers on agent evaluation architecture and data infrastructure; mentor teammates and raise the ML bar.

Key Requirements

  • •5–8+ years of machine learning engineering experience shipping ML systems to production on a small team.
  • •Experience taking a classification problem from messy, unlabeled real-world data to models that ship and serve production traffic.
  • •Deep understanding of LLMs to make defensible tradeoffs versus classic models based on cost and latency.
  • •Hands-on experience building classifiers under severe class imbalance and extracting the small minority signal.
  • •Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, scikit-learn, langchain, XGBoost) and MLOps for training, evaluation, and serving.
